Ord Valley Muster

Thursday May 12th to Sunday May 22nd, 2011

Highlighting its extraordinary cultural diversity, stunning primeval landscape, friendly folk and warm country hospitality, the ‘Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster’ is an all embracing community celebration of the prodigious talent to be found in the East Kimberley region.

From humble beginnings in 2001 the Ord Valley Muster came to life quietly as a simple one night affair; – a pleasant dinner in the outback for local businesses. Since then it has grown at light-speed to be firmly established as a pre-eminent event in the national festival calendar with investment provided by the entire community. Featuring well over 30 varied and brilliant events across an exciting fun filled 10 day festival, culminating in the Muster’s major draw-card outdoor concert; the now internationally acclaimed ‘Airnorth Kimberley Moon Experience’.

At the Tourism Western Australia Awards in December – Argyle Diamonds Ord Valley Muster was the winner of the 2010 Significant Festivals & Events. This is a fantastic achievement and the 3rd year in a row the event has won this category. Next year the event will be placed in the Tourism Hall of Fame, where it joins the Airnorth Kimberley Moon Experience.

"There aren’t two better weeks to be in the East Kimberley than during the Ord Valley Muster. The community spirit of the event leaves as strong an impression as the awesome landscape."
Stephen Scourfield - Travel Editor, The West Australian

"If we allow ourselves to use the vernacular of its landscape – big, wide and sweeping – we can arrive at the proposition that Kununurra defines Australia."
Mark Day - The Australian
