NOTE: You MUST register at the Kununurra Visitor Centre for your Wild Walk. Space is limited.
Would you like to see some more of the stunning country around Kununurra? Are you fit, agile and an early riser? Did you bring your boots or covered in footwear with you? If so, the Monday, Wednesday and Friday early morning walks both weeks of the Muster may appeal to you.
Fitness, sturdy footwear and water carried in a backpack are essential as there are no footpaths. Boots and long trousers are recommended.
While these walks are not for the faint hearted or for those who want to take a stroll or who want to stop to take lots of pictures (a few would be fine!), they are for genial nature lovers and, once concluded, these are all places you can go back to at your leisure.
The walks are roughly 3 - 5 kms in length and all traverse some rugged and difficult terrain with some steep climbs and descents, hence the necessity for fitness regardless of age. Meet at 5.30 am at the corner of Hibiscus Street & the Great Northern Highway. Return around 7.30 to 8.30am. Apologies but no dogs are allowed in the Mirima National Park.
You must book in at the Kununurra Visitor Centre as there is a maximum of 15 people on each walk. Free of charge, but donations towards education costs for Miriwoong children would be gratefully received.
FREE Entry - Donation to local Miriwoong children welcome
There are a range of travel packages on offer (no matter where you live in Australia) including flights, accommodation, event tickets and tours, so you can experience the magic of the Muster and Kimberley first hand!
